SWI Group Orders $1 Billion in Systems from NVIDIA
SWI Group placed a $1 billion NVIDIA AI system order, officially launching operations of its new infrastructure subsidiary, SWI Compute. Listed on Euronext Amsterdam, the group signed its first enterprise customer contracts after joining the Preferred NVIDIA Cloud Partner network in August 2026. The company's first capacity contract was signed with a US-based AI inference platform.
When will the AI factory in the UK open?
Under the investment schedule, the first large-scale facility in the UK starts with 30 MW of power capacity. The center, which will house approximately 7,000 Rubin GPUs and 3,500 Vera CPUs in NVIDIA Vera Rubin NVL72 racks, is targeted to be operational by the end of 2027. Connected via NVIDIA Quantum-X800 InfiniBand and Spectrum-X Ethernet networks, this first phase forms the foundation of the UK campus planned to reach 530 MW, and marks the first step toward the total capacity of 2.3 GW targeted by 2029.
Which facilities is SWI Group establishing in Europe?
SWI Group has been expanding its operational volume with 3.6 GW of grid power secured across Europe and the US since 2020. 1 of the 5 campuses developed by the group in Ireland, the UK, Denmark, Spain, and Italy has been leased to a major cloud provider. Directly managing development processes from grid connection to facility installation, the company is deploying NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra systems in its initial rollout. Together with system integrator Delta Computers and storage partners, delivery of over 8,000 GPUs is planned.
