Weekly cash flow and settlement planning in the Equity Market is being reshaped according to the official holiday calendar. Borsa Istanbul (BIST) has adjusted trading hours and settlement dates due to the October 29 Republic Day. According to the schedule, a half-day session will be held on Wednesday, October 28, while no trading will take place in the markets on Thursday, October 29.

How will settlement dates work during the week of October 29?

The T+2 settlement rule, which is applied as 2 business days in normal operation, extends beyond the standard calendar due to the official holiday. Under the regulation, although a half session will open on Wednesday, October 28, settlement operations will not run. Cash withdrawal dates are therefore postponed for investors planning to transfer proceeds from stock sales to their bank accounts.

When will stock sale proceeds be credited to accounts?

Critical dates in settlement matching have become clear. Settlement for transactions completed on Monday, October 26 will be executed on Friday, October 30. Proceeds from share sales conducted during the sessions on Tuesday, October 27 and Wednesday, October 28 will be credited to accounts on Monday, November 2.

It is not possible to withdraw balances resulting from stock sales directly to a bank account before the settlement process is completed. Investors managing cash balances in their portfolios and planning weekday money transfers need to position themselves taking this shift in the settlement calendar into account.
