Kirac Galvaniz pulls forward new factory construction to end of 2026
Kirac Galvaniz (TCKRC) updated the construction completion target for its Bursa Baskoy production facility investment, which will have a total indoor area of 31,332.70 square meters, to the end of 2026. Rising on a 16,122-square-meter plot of land in the Baskoy neighborhood of the Nilufer district, the company's new facility aims to strengthen its production infrastructure and expand product diversity in strategic growth areas, particularly the energy and defense industries.
Why was the construction schedule for the Bursa Baskoy facility pulled forward?
The acceleration of the investment schedule was driven by increased business volume across operating areas, existing and potential business opportunities, and the resulting need for additional capacity. The construction schedule of the facility, which was previously announced to the public in a disclosure dated August 25, 2025, and targeted for commissioning at the end of 2027, was thus pulled forward by 1 year. In parallel with the acceleration in construction work, machinery and equipment procurement and commissioning preparations will be conducted simultaneously. The transition schedule to production for the new facility will be announced once installation, testing, and permitting processes become clear.
How will the transition to production at the new factory proceed?
Planning to support its long-term growth through capacity expansion, the company's shares retreated on the day of the disclosure, losing 5.25% to the 94.75 lira (TRY) level. While intraday trading volume was recorded at 4,288,362, the stock continues to trade below its 52-week high of 171.40 lira. Increasing its share buybacks ahead of the investment decision, the company had raised its stake in the capital to 0.3117% by bringing the amount of repurchased shares to 530 thousand units through purchases between October 21 and October 23.
